Dr. Lavinia McSwain

Dr Lavinia McSwain is a registered psychologist and lecturer with over 16 years of experience working across hospital, community mental health, forensic, and university settings. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive expertise in both the public and private sectors, supporting adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges.

Lavinia works with individuals experiencing various mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, trauma, grief and loss, addiction, relationship issues, workplace stress, and other life challenges. Her therapeutic approach is flexible and evidence-based, drawing on modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). This integrative approach allows her to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and circumstances.

Lavinia provides treatment under Medicare, private funding, WorkCover, TAC, and EAP, making her services accessible through multiple funding pathways. Appointments are available both in person and online, offering flexibility to suit different preferences and circumstances.
